All is calm; all is bright

December 28, 2014: After Christmas.

All is calm: Our oldest son, his wife, and 3 year old son headed back to Denver this morning after a few days stay with us in Frisco.  Not that we’re seeking calm.  It’s simply the results of a 3 year old exiting the premises.  We miss them already.

All is bright: Photo taken yesterday, the first really bright day we’ve had since the kids came to visit on Christmas Day.  I snapped this photo at a turn out along I-70 as I ran an errand to Silverthorne.

Colorado Cold vs. Arizona Cold.

Snow covered Lake Dillon.

Weather permitting we had anticipated trekking back to Arizona on Monday the 29th.  There are 2 or 3 days of snowfall predicted along our outward bound path through Colorado, so we’ll wait for clear skies and roads.  But, the other factor is that although it is indeed cold in Colorado, there’s not exactly a heatwave happening in Apache Junction at the moment.  We’re inclined to stay put and toasty warm by the fire, rather than being confined inside the Mini-Moose for several days with the temps in the 50’s and 60’s.  This will give us time to pack up all the Christmas decorations, enjoy the snow a little longer, and wrap up a few odds and ends here in Frisco.  We’re hoping for a quick return of warm weather to Sunrise RV Resort.  It’s time for some water volleyball, fun on the pickle ball court, and Friday night Mexican Train!

Frisco nestled between the mountains and the lake.  Until next time – be safe.
