A very crowded bike ride.

July 2, 2014:  A very crowded bike ride through the wetlands and onto the Dam Road.

Plants and their reflections in Meadow Creek.

Bike path along the Dam Road between Frisco and Dillon.  This day use area gets lots of traffic – bikes speeding by as folks with kayaks and canoes try to cross the path to the shore without getting run down.

Heading for the lake between bike riders.

Jack hugs the edge of the bike path while waiting for me to snap a few pictures.  This can be a dangerous place.

A break away from the path, I take a picture of some flowers with Lake Dillon beyond.

There’s gridlock on the path!  Kayakers trying to cross to get to their vehicle.

Make a run for it -- quickly!

Whew!  Made it without a disaster.

It’s been a nice bike ride, but a little stressful with all the bike traffic and speeding cyclists ready to run you down if you get in their way.  We have a little more low key relaxed approach to biking than many.  I think we’ll restrict our biking to normal weekdays, and not extended holiday weekends.  We’ll try to avoid all these weekend warriors in the future.  Until next time – be safe.  We're trying our darnest with all these crazies!
